Competition: Perfect recipe for a Home Exchange

May 6, 2015 by Emma 27 Comments

Would you like a free holiday?

Would you like someone to watch your house while you’re away?

Then a home exchange could be the perfect recipe for your next trip. You can win one year’s membership to Home Exchange, worth £100, by entering below.

I have always loved the idea of doing a house swap as it offers the chance to stay in some great place – in the UK and abroad – without the usual cost involved. And I like the idea of staying in someone’s home, with all the comfort and personal touches that offers.

Self-catering

Self catering accommodation is also much easier when you have children, especially when they have allergies. It allows flexibility, is cheaper than eating out every night and means you can provide for all dietary needs.

I am tempted by this family home in the Swiss Alps, looking for somewhere to stay when visiting family in America or finding a weekend retreat closer to home

Obviously in a home exchange you have to let people stay in your house too. This may seem a bit daunting but you can check out other people’s reviews on the website and also contact owners directly and ask lots of questions. You can even get people to look after your pets as well!

The website allows you to see a detailed description and photos of each property and to provide the same for yours. You may be surprised who would be interested in staying in your house. Are you in or near a major city, airport or rail connections? Do you have great countryside on your doorstep? Are you close to a university, theme park or visitor attraction?

I am excited to upload our home onto Home Exchange and see where we could go.

Thanks. Yes, I think it’s a great way to go on holiday for the fraction of the price you would normally have to pay, and what an interesting experience too.
