Schleich Bayala review

April 29, 2019 by Emma Leave a Comment

AD -Review

Miss A has strong opinions about what she likes – and what she wants! She spends most ad breaks screaming ‘Can we get that?’ at the television. It is usually pink and/or sparkly and/or made of plastic tat that I know will break in about 10 minutes.

I like to buy her toys that I know will last so I was excited to come across Schleich for the first times at Christmas when we were gifted a Schleich horse advent calendar.

Miss A absolutely loved the figures and plays with them regularly, making up stories and incorporating them into all manner of scenarios. I love them as you can see the quality and detail, and I know she will have them for years.

So when were asked to revie Schleich’s new Bayala range, I knew it would be a long lasting addition. Not only are they horses, they are sparkly, magic horses! We have been well and truly taken over by the unicorn trend in our house so I know she will be over the moon with these figures (I am saving them for her birthday!)

The detail, contouring and stance of these figures really bring them to life and I can’t wait to get involved in all her stories.

Star Pegasus Mare (£13.99) is just beautiful and definitely steals the show. The glitter and rhinestones are extravagant but not tacky and her long sweeping tail and wings give her a strong presence. I love that she looks powerful as well as pretty – this is the kind of message I want my daughter to see in her toys.

The moon unicorn stallion (£13.99) looks ready to leap and it’s great to have a male toy in the range as unicorns can be saturated with pink and femininity. This is great for storytelling and also for any boys who want to play with unicorns, but are put off by feeling they are only for girls.

The final addition to the family is moon unicorn foal (£7.49). Miss A loves playing families and will adore having this cute baby to tell stories with. Again, it is quite gender neutral which I like but the gold and glitter make it feel special.

It think the new Bayala range is beautiful and will be something that can be passed down from child to child or even for the next generation. Ponies never go out of fashion – especially not magical ones!

You can buy the range at Smyths Toys.
