Review: Schleich Horse Cluband Vet Van

March 12, 2020 by Emma Leave a Comment

AD – Gifted

There are some toys which you wish had never come into your lives. (I remember a particularly bright and noisy plastic caterpillar when J was little.) Then there are others that you feel jealous you didn’t have as a child! Schleich Horse Club figures and playsets fall firmly into the second category.

We first came across Schleich a few years ago and Miss A loved collecting more horses in their advent calendar last year. The figures are so sturdy, well made and realistic, and the Horse Club Girls have lots of personality and so much attention to detail.

Miss A loves animals and tells me she wants to be a vet (or perhaps a vet astronaut!) when she grows up. So it was brilliant to see the new Horse Club Vet Van. You have to assemble the van but it was quick and easy to do. There are so many little details like the stethescope, laptop and xray slides to help bring things to life. Plus it’s great to inspire her with a female vet to play with.

J also loved playing with the van and figures too and it was lovely to see the stories they were making up together, rather than arguing over who gets to play princesses or soldiers.  Although one of the riders did get commissioned into J’s army!

So many toys these days are very transient but like Miss A’s dolls’ house or J’s train tracks, I feel like the Schleich figures are something we will keep and pass down to the next generation. They are timeless toys and you can see they will stand the test of time, no matter how many times they are played with.

The Horse Club Girls retails at £15 each and the Vet Van is £30, which I think is great value considering what some other, much less well made toys cost. They are part of a huge range of Horse Club items and avaiable to buy at Argos.
