Peppa Pig: My First Concert

How many hours of Peppa Pig do you think you’ve watched? I don’t think I can even count! It’s a show that captivates young children and is a favourite in most homes across the country. Now the much loved family are stepping onto the stage in a new show – Peppa Pig: My First Concert.

I love introducing my children to the theatre and giving them a wide range of cultural experiences. In the last few years we have been blown away by The Room On The Broom in the West End, enjoyed Alice In Wonderland in the grounds of Hatfield House and seen In The Night Garden come alive on stage.

I am always amazed at the thought and imagination that goes into translating these much loved characters into a live show. Putting Peppa together with a classical orchestra might seem like a crazy idea, but I think it’s brilliant! Classical music can seem elitist, only for grown ups and inaccessible to many people.

So to create something that is fun, connected to a kids’ TV show and is directly aimed at under 5s is a lovely way to inspire families and introduce classical music at a young age. Although J and Miss A have started to move past the obsessive Peppa Pig phase now, I know they are going to love this and I can’t wait to take them.

Creative Director, Jane Mitchell says: “Playing Muddy Puddles alongside Mozart is amazing fun. If you can reach children through a character they know and love, it’s a golden opportunity.”

The concert is touring the country from Feburary. Peppa and her family will be visiting 11 different locations, starting in Glasgow and finishing up in London at the end of May.
