Favourite things and Nom Nom reuseable food pouch giveaway

February 29, 2016 by Emma 41 Comments

February is one of those months that doesn’t feel like it has much going for it – the excitement of the new year is over but Spring hasn’t yet sprung. But we’ve had a few fun highlights to brighten the grey days and here are my favourite things from this month.

Nom Nom Reuseable Food Pouches

nom nom reuseable food pouches

Food pouches have been a saviour in our house, even more so since J has been a toddler. They are a great, healthy snack on the run with minimum mess and I always have one lurking in the change bag. So I was excited to see that Nom Nom reuseable food pouches have just made a new Monster pouch which is slightly bigger and perfect for toddler appetites. We first wrote a review of NomNom reuseable food pouches when J was weaning and loved being able to fill them with our own purees or yoghurt. It’s so much cheaper than shop bought ones and means we know exactly what is in them. Now baby A is weaning too it’s brilliant to have the two different sizes available for each of them.

You can win a some regular pouches and monster pouches by entering the competition at the bottom of the page.

Free From Food Awards shortlist

free from food awards shhorlist 2016

Last month I had the privilege of being a judge for the Free From Food Awards so I am delighted to see the shorlist is out. It is so exciting to recognise some brilliant brands and the innovation in the free from market. The choice and quality is expanding all the time and I am keen to be involved with anything that encourages this. I am excited to go to the awards ceremony in April, meet some more of the brands and enjoy a free from nibble or two!

Passion planner

passion planner organiser diary

I love my Passion Planner so much! I had been scouring the internet for ages looking for the perfect planner. One that had a week-to-view diary alongside notes on the same page. One that was pretty and a reasonable size. One that was practical and easy to use but also inspiring. Then, when I was judging the Freefrom food awards I saw Ruth from WhatAllergy? with a Passion Planner and I was sold. It has loads of brilliant motivational extras like weekly slots for ‘good things that happened’, a daily focus and monthly reviews as encouraging you to work towards goals. It is a bit expensive, at about £30 with shipping from America, but for something I use religiously every day that works out at just 8p a day. Bargain!

Date night

em and carl

My husband and I managed to sneak away for a date night on Valentine’s Day and enjoy some quality time together. It is very easy to neglect your relationship and let it become a tangle of tiredness and frayed nerves so we need to remember to make the effort every so often. Luckily we have an even more exciting night away booked for March when we are leaving baby A and J with my Mum and Dad for the first time. I’ll miss them but I’m looking forward to some restorative relaxation.

fruit or vegetable purees. My granddaughter is dairy intolerant so it’s much easier to feed her something homemade to ensure no allergic reaction.
