Do you ever have those moments when you think ‘How have I lived my whole life and not discovered this’? Well, that’s how I feel about homemade granola!
Shop bought granola is a) a rip off b) full of sugar and c) not very nut allergy friendly.
So I decided to make my own nut free granola. This has been on my to do list for ages and when I finally got round to it I realised just how easy it really is. Plus, you get to pick all the ingredients. All the non-nutty granolas are a bit too fruity for me so it was nice to create my own balance.
This is great served for breakfast with oat milk and Banana, or for a go-to snack during the day. I think it would also make a lovely gift in a food hamper and will keep in an airtight container for a month.
Nut free granola
Ingredients
300g oats
125ml Carob or maple syrup
2tbsp honey
50g sunflower seeds
50g pumpkin seeds
50g cranberries (or other dried fruit)
Method
Mix together all ingredients, expect dried fruit, until well coated.
Spread evenly on a baking sheet
Bake at 120c for 15mins. Mix in dried fruit and bake for another 10-15mins.
Leave to cool.

Amazing and as I can’t eat nuts as you know, perfect for me. Thanks for linking up to #tastytuesdays x
Super easy and such a good idea!
Granola is amazing isn’t it? I pretty much always have a tub of it in the cupboard but like you say it is pretty tough not to eat it all day long!
I just can’t understand why I haven’t made it before!!
This sounds perfect for my other half who can’t have nuts – and I would definitely love it too, granola is delicious. #freefromfridays
It’s such a great way to start the day.
Really need to take a page from your book and start doing this. We spend a fortune on nut free granola!
I LOVE homemade granola too! Ironically I have to make one that has no carbs…so it relies heavily on nuts and seeds. No good for you guys but that is the joy of granola isn’t it?!
Can I use frozen fruit instead of dried fruit, or will that not work?
Thanks
