It’s 1st December – eek!!
Our freefrom advent calendars are ready, we’re putting up the decorations tomorrow and I’ve even made a good start on present buying. I’m not one of these people who always had everything ready and wrapped by the end of November. The journalist in me likes to work to deadline! But I have been a bit more organised this year.
When we were kids, we always used to make presents for friends and family. I remember making carboard sleighs one year and filling them with chocolates, and there was always some kind of crafting or baking going on in the lead up to Christmas. It’s something I would like to to continue with J and Miss A as they get older and I think they are at a good age to start this year.
Some of last week’s recipes got me thinking about what we could make so I have put together four great ideas for homemade Christmas gifts:
Imagine getting a box of these Finest cherry brandy truffles from Glutarama in your Christmas stocking. Definitely one for the grown ups!
These Vegan gingerbread men from The Baking Explorer are the perfect gift to make with the kids -although I can’t promise they’ll be decorated as neatly as these!
Just the name of this Clementine and cranberry wreath bread from Free From Fairy sounds special and would make a lovely family offering.
Treats can be saintly and I think this Non-alcoholic paleo Christmas cake from Mummy Tries is as close as it gets.

What lovely ideas! I love the idea of homemade presents…but the reality is I just don’t have the time…I usually end up getting everything from Amazon! Eeek – does that make me a very bad person?? I do love making Christmas nibbles with the kids and I always make sure we find time to make a few homemade mince pies and Christmas biscuits…and cheese straws, of course! Eb x
Hi, you can’t beat homemade pressies, I would love the gingerbread men #freefromfridays
I really enjoy making gifts, I love the thrifty creativity it inspires. Gorgeous ideas and thanks so much for including my cake ♥️⛄️???
Homemade gifts are always my favourites, by a log stretch. They show that someone has really taken the time to make something for you, wrap it, and deliver it. It’s always really special 🙂 x
