I have some very exciting news to share – no I’m not pregnant again, ha ha!!
J had his annual allergy skin prick tests this week and his results for milk were almost negative! It means, hopefully, that we can start reintroducing milk into his diet. We have been told to take it slowly – spending a few months on each step of the milk ladder – but it looks like he may have outgrown his allergy.
While we work our way up the ladder, and as I’m not eating dairy while I breastfeed baby A, we have also been making some easy dairy free Halloween decorations.
Last week we had a record 30 recipes on the linky and it seems that the number is growing every week which is brilliant. I am so glad you keep coming back to share your ideas and that so many people are getting some great inspiration from them.
I loved the flavour combination of these Coconut and lime cupcakes from new joiner Mami2five.
I also think these Blueberry and lemon buttermilk scones from Gluten Free Alchemist sound really fresh and perfect for an afternoon tea.
Finally, I couldn’t leave out this Raisin bakewell slice from Free From Fairy as it recreates a recipe from one of my favourite restaurants, Leon.

No problem, thanks for adding your recipe.
That is exciting news!!! When our daughter got negative results back we were told to immediately give her dairy. So stupid because she was poorly and the consultant wouldn’t believe it was the dairy because she had not reacted to the skin prick test! Do take it slowly…my daughter still doesn’t tolerate much! BTW thanks for picking my bakewell slices!!!
Thanks. Yes, I am going to be very cautionary with it and I’m a bit tentative about celebrating too much but can’t help myself!
Exciting news about the dairy thing! My husband couldn’t tolerate dairy for the longest time, but recently he’s been handling it pretty well. It’s a slooooow process getting foods back in his diet, but it’s so great when things work out. At least in the mean time you’ve got all these great dairy free recipes to choose from!
We definitely need to take our time with it but great to hear your husband is tolerating it well.
I totally thought you
Oops – I somehow managed to press “post comment” while typing 😐
I totally thought you were going to tell us you are expecting baby #3 😉 haha. But that is great news about J, yay!
Haha, no way!!
Congrats to you and A! That’s so awesome, hopefully all goes well!
Thanks, me too.
Ah that’s good news! Hope it goes ok! None of ours have ever had positive reactions in skin prick tests but still react. Although the biggest peachick has all but grown out of the dairy allergy and even managed ice cream from the ice cream man on the beach last year – I nearly cried!
How exciting, I can’t wait for that day. I would probably cry too.
That’s fantastic news Emma. I hope all goes well for your little one…. My fingers are crossed for you xx.
Thanks so much for featuring my scones (they were pretty yummy!)
Hoping to link new post tonight!
Thanks Kate x
Thanks so much for featuring my recipe 🙂 That’s great news about the test results, fingers crossed it will be a smooth reintroduction to milk, we were never told about the milk ladder with my oldest son but he had pretty much outgrown his allergy by the time he was five. He’s nine now and is fine unless he completely binges over a few days x
That’s good to hear. Glad your son was able to outgrow it.
