It’s now officially Autumn and as the weather begins to turn, we thought we’d make a few changes here at #Freefromfridays too…
Most things have stayed the same – we would love to see all your fabulous free from recipes – but we are now welcoming any allergy or coeliac related content such as products reviews, personal expeirences or advice articles as well, so we can create a one-stop-shop for the best blogs of the week.
We also have…
…A New Badge
…A New Facebook Group
You can now join our closed Facebook group to add your recipes and allergy posts throughout the week and we can all help share each other’s content across our own social media. Don’t forget we also have a Pinterest board.
…And A New Co-host
I am being joined by the fabulous Mel from LeCoinDeMel. She writes a beauitful blog about her family life and has a daughter with multiple allergies. Starting next week, you will be able to find #Freefromfridays on both our blogs and we will take it in turn to comment on your posts and choose our favourites. Now over to Mel to introduce herself…
“It’s such an honour to be co-hosting ‘Free From Fridays’ with my lovely friend Emma. My journey as an allergy mum started when Jumpy was only a few weeks old.
She was my third baby and I felt confident around newborns, but I had no idea what was causing the rashes, the red skin, the sores that were appearing from nowhere. At six months old, I rushed to A&E with her when she started swelling, getting spots all over her body and was crying very little (the most worrying part of it all to be honest).
It’s all gone uphill from there, with a great paediatrician, the relief of getting a diagnosis of multiple food allergies, an action plan, an Epipen (at last, a lifeline to keep in my handbag), my blog, developing recipes, and meeting lots of mums dealing with allergies.
Over time, I’ve developed a few recipes that have made my little girl feel like she’s not excluded. Pancakes are a favourite in our house and I was so happy the first time I made egg, wheat and dairy-free crêpes. The first time I managed to make things like ice cream or a showstopper cake for us all to enjoy was another big milestone. I look forward to reading all your recipes and sharing our allergy adventures.
