Free From Fridays features Hungry Little Veggie

August 21, 2015 by Emma 1 Comment

This week #Freefromfridays features brilliant blogger Nisha Mehta from Hungry Little Veggie who I am delighted is co-hosting the linky with me.

Nisha will be helping me out this week by commenting on your posts and sharing them on social media. Please tweet her at @hungrylittleveg and me @freefromfarm using hashtag #freefromfridays. I will do my best to join in, baby allowing!
What ingredients are your recipes free from?
My recipes are all vegetarian and free from egg. Many also are free from dairy and gluten.
Tell us a little bit about your free from journey…
I was born and raised vegetarian by religion and I also do not eat egg. I then married my darling husband who is lactose intolerant and has a sensitivity to gluten. So seven years ago, when I decided to tie the knot, my challenge began to create a consistent lactose-free, gluten-free diet for him.
What advice would you give someone who has recently starting cooking free from?
Try and be adventurous and don’t be afraid of it. The world is now a smaller place and there are so many alternatives available. We have freshly imported tofu from south-east Asia, noodles, gluten-free flour options, lactose-free non-dairy, dairy brands like Arla and a wealth of soya products, which can easily be used as substitutes.
What made you start blogging?
Two kids and an immense amount of time in the kitchen thinking up ways to avoid being a carb junkie and get greens and proteins down my eldest little toddler.
banoffee
What is your favourite recipe on your site?
Eggless banoffee pancake! I love banoffee pie and love pancakes so this was the best of both.
revioli
What is your favourite recipe from last weeks’ #freefromfridays?
Baked Ravioli from I Say Nomato
