Dairy free smoothies: Our top 3

August 9, 2015 by Emma 4 Comments

I love dairy free smoothies! I have a three week old baby and a toddler so life is a little manic at the moment and time is limited. I am also breastfeeding so I am starving all the time!

Dairy free smoothies are a great way to get some much needed vitamins into my diet in a quick and easy way. They are also filling, delicious and fun to make with J.

Just throw the ingredients in a food processor or use a hand blender to whizz them up and enjoy. Here are my top 3 dairy free smoothies:

Banana & Wow butter

300ml non-dairy milk

1 banana

1tbsp wow butter

Tropical fruit (serves 2)

1 banana

1 mango

150g non-dairy yoghurt

300ml pineapple juice

Summer berry

150g frozen berries

300ml non-dairy milk

1tsp honey

What’s your favourite smoothie recipe? Do you do ‘green smoothies’ or hide any veggies in for the kids?

I really like the sound of the first smoothie. I make something similar with regular milk and almond butter so I’d imagine your free free alternative tastes really good too. I’ll also add a spoonful of oats to make it a bit more filling.

I’ve attempted green smoothies but my blender is pretty rubbish so they just end up with a lot of sludgy green stuff at the bottom. I couldn’t drink them so there’s no way I could sneak them past the boys! I’m going to invest in a decent blender soon so fingers crossed I’ll have more luck with them then.

I hope life is going well with the new baby xx

Adding oats is a great idea, I’ll try that. Ha, yeah I’ve tried sneaking avocado into chocolate mousse and that didn’t work so I’m not sure of my chances of getting a green smoothie past J either!

These sound absolutely gorgeous. I haven’t used wow butter before – somehow it’s escaped my memory to look it up when I hear about it!

I am rather obsessed with it as it tastes just like the real thing – no idea how!
