10 minute vegan cinnamon rolls

June 18, 2015 by Emma 21 Comments

Sometimes, when you wake up in the morning you just fancy something a bit sweet and sickly to go with your morning cup of tea. As we live down a farm track though it’s not just as easy as popping to the corner shop so we have to have our cupboards stocked. These vegan cinnamon rolls are brilliant because all they need is store cupboard ingredients and a puff pastry sheet, which I nearly always have in the fridge.

Mr C is American so it’s lovely to be able to make vegan cinnamon rolls that remind him of home and are also safe for the kids to enjoy as well.

Vegan cinnamon rolls

They only take 10 minutes to make and are great for getting the kids involved in a fun morning activity – and giving you a treat for a 6am wake up! We love making them on Father’s Day or for a birthday breakfast as well. In fact I’ve trained J so well now that he directs his Daddy so they can make them for me too!

Puff pastry is a bit of a favourite in out house as it is dairy, egg and nut free – plus super easy to use! People are always surprised that is it vegan and I love using it to recreate treats for friends and family. If you are feeling more decadent then check out my mini vegan croissants too which are a really lovely breakfast.

Jus Rol Puff Pastry Sheet

Cinnamon

Vegetable oil

Sugar

Icing Sugar & Water

Method

Unroll the puff pastry sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Roll it back up and use a small amount of vegetable oil to see the edge. Cut into 2cm circles, place on a baking tray and press down so they spread slightly. Bake at 180-200c for 10mins.

Leave to cool and drizzle with icing.

These look amazing although our free froms mean we can’t have them. I still haven’t made your churros and desperately want to!

I wish you could have them! Still, the Churros is a pretty good replacement – enjoy!

Why have I not thought of this before. They look scrummy and so easy to make and I’ve always got puff pastry to hands. Might go and make myself some right now 🙂 Thanks for linking up to Kids in the kItchen x

I’ve fallen in love with Jus Rol. So great that our kids can have ‘pastry’. Not in the coffee shop like their friends…but that’s okay!

Great idea. Think I might play with raisins….

It’s just the best – I’m slightly obsessed and always have some in the fridge ‘just in case’!
