Tonight I’m excited to be hosting a live chat on Hipp Organic’s Facebook page about weaning safely with food allergies from 7.30 – 8.30pm.
If you think your baby has food allergies, are worried about allergies in the family or just want some tips on weaning safely, come over and ask any questions.
Who am I?
I am not a medical expert but have been there and done it – twice. I have gained a lot of practical experience and knowledge in dealing with allergies and understand how difficult and daunting it can be.
I have two children – J (3) and A (8 months) – who both suffer from multiple allergies including milk, egg, nuts and sesame.
J had severe eczema and colic as a baby and was reacting to foods through my breastmilk. He started having immediate reactions when we weaned him, was officially diagnosed at 9 months and had an anaphylactic reaction aged one. Under guidance from our consultant, we have now started to try reintroducing egg and are currently climbing the milk ladder.
I knew baby A was also suffering allergies from the day she was born. After cutting foods out my diet while breastfeeding her symptoms improved but she suffered a bad allergic reaction when we started weaning her. She was diagnosed at 7 months and is now loving her food!
Take a look around this blog and you will find lots of family friendly recipes and information on dealing with allergies. Here are a few useful posts to get you started.
