Food Allergy Care Plans

July 2, 2014 by Emma 4 Comments

Writing an food allergy care plan for your child brings home the reality of what you are both dealing with.

But it is also essential.

There are lots of resources out there that can help you and pre-written forms that you can fill in. Here are a few useful ones:

Food Allergy Research and Education

Anaphylaxis Campaign

American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology

J’s Emergency Care Plan

We decided to create our own one page document to give to J’s childminder, family, friends and anyone that might need to care for him.

Here it is. Feel free to copy and amend for your own use:

Without wanting to sound patronising I just had to say, well done! Your care plan is impressive. I teach paediatric first aid and the amount of people who look at me with a blank stare when I talk about care plans is shocking. It’s really refreshing to encounter someone who are switched on to the potential risks and take steps to reduce them so that loved ones can flourish.

That’s not patronising at all Steve, it’s very reassuring. Thanks for letting me know.

Brilliant! What a great and clear plan. It must really help anyone caring for your child to have this…it would certainly make me more comfortable knowing what to do in an emergency. Fantastic! I will share on Twitter and FB x

Great plan, really clear I would make sure there is a photo on it and it is put up in staff room, kitchen, lunch hall, carried outside for pe etc as well as classroom so in case of new or supply staff he is known x
