It’s V-day! I have reached 24 weeks in my pregnancy which is very exciting as my little pudding is now considered viable.
When I was pregnant with J I reached this milestone on Thanksgiving -which we celebrate as my husband is American- and this was my Facebook status:
“Happy Thanksgiving Y’all! Today I am thankful for being 24 weeks pregnant with our baby that took 2 long years to make. Every kick reminds me how lucky I am and how the hard wait was worth it.”
So I thought I’d take this opportunity to reflect on what I am thankful for this time round:
Being able to conceive this baby just 4 months after my miscarriage
Becoming pregnant so easily after suffering 2 years infertility with J
An easy and healthy pregnancy so far
My amazing little toddler who will soon become a wonderful big brother
I am also thankful that J is happy and healthy. His eczema is well under control, he hasn’t had a bad chest for months and only a few relatively minor allergic reactions. We have successfully started the milk ladder and are hopefully going to try an egg challenge soon.
I am thankful for my family and friends; career and blog; and my home in the country.
Life is good.
What are you thankful for?
Happy to be sharing this post with Let’s Talk Mommy #sharewithme, Mummy Bloggers #mummymonday, Becoming a Stay at Home Mum #maternitymondays, Bod For Tea #sharethejoy

Congratulations – it is amazing having two little kids, I have two myself and they are the best of friends and so kind to each other, its a pleasure to see! Best of luck with your pregnancy, you get less time to thnk about things second time round with another smally to consider! #mummymondays
Yeah it is definitely flying by in a bit of a blur this time as I run after J!
Congratulations! I remember V-day (love that expression) with both mine. It was the moment I started to relax a bit more about the whole thing. And great news that you’ve started up the milk ladder. How’s it going so far? We were so lucky with E. She passed her first challenge at 18 months. We took things slowly and by 2, she was clear to have her first ice cream! Good luck with it all. #MummyMonday
We have moved onto step 2, digestives, and that has been fine. Then next month we can try muffins which will be a great achievement so I’m excited and nervous for that. Would love to see I eat an ice cream, that must be wonderful.
I am 26 weeks now, and hitting that 24 week mark is such a relief isn’t it? #maternitymondays
So close to me, we’ll be racing each other – or waddling! – to the finish line
Oh what a lovely milestone to reach. I never really had a ‘V’ day as such with my first daughter as she has a heart condition and her prognosis was poor (she’s now 3 and a half and doing well) but I remember getting there second time around. So glad all is going well with your pregnancy and that you have started the milk ladder with J’s allergies – hope all goes well with the egg challenge too #sharethejoy
It really is a good milestone but being a mum of two is getting a lot more real now!
This is so heart-warming, it made me smile from ear to ear! It’s so important to remember all the blessings. Congrats on hitting V-day, and I hope it all continues to go well.
Thanks for joining in with the #sharethejoylinky!
