Am I ready to become a mother of two?
Will I even remember what to do?
The sleepless nights and endless days.
Everything changes, it’s only a phase.
Am I ready to keep two little people alive?
To feed them, nourish them and watch them thrive.
Covered in piles of washing, wipes and nappies
A house full of chaos but everyone’s happy.
Am I ready to see my baby become a brother?
To feel pushed out by bringing home another?
A new little baby with tiny fingers and toes.
A precious younger sibling with whom he can grow.
Am I ready to share my love for one?
Can I really feel like I do for my son?
ย Twice the cuddles and twice the joy.
My heart is expanding to fit my baby and boy.
Am I ready to become a mother of two?
There’s nothing I would rather do.

Aww thats lovely! Its quite daunting isn’t it? There was 10 years between my 2, so it’d been so long since Id had a newborn, plus my eldest had been an only child for 10 years. But we wouldn’t change it for the world!! ๐

love this great pics too #mblogchat
Great poem, you’ll be an amazing mum of two I’m sure of it ๐
Aww lovely! There’s only 15 months between mine & I was worried the eldest would feel pushed out when she hadn’t had that long of just her, but she LOVES her little sister. She’s loved her right from the start. #sharethejoylinky
Aw that’s beautiful! It even brought a little tear to my eye! You’ll be an amazing mum of two xx #sharethejoylinky
Ah thanks, I hope so!
such a beautiful poem! I can relate to every word, especially the part about not being able to wait. It’s so exciting is t it xx
Thanks, yes very exciting!
Amazing mom of one, or two or three..you will do the best you can. Giving your little one a sibling is a great joy!
You’re right, I think we all can just do our best and I do think giving him a sibling is a great gift.
This is an absolutely gorgeous poem. I find myself increasingly thinking more about having no.2 (although not quite yet) and you’ve perfectly described some of the thoughts and feelings I have.
Good luck with your growing family. ๐ xx

This is beautiful! And so true, you’re never ready I don’t think until the second (or third or fourth) arrives.
Thanks Laura x
aww you will be fine. I forgot EVERYTHING but as both my kids are so different, it doesn’t really matter. It is like riding a bike in every way.
Thanks for linking up with #MaternityMondays x
I think we’ve probably blocked a lot of the reality of babyhood out! But you’re right they’ll probably be completely different anyway.
Ah this is SO lovely and so eloquent. My #maternitymondays post is on a similar theme so I really enjoyed finding your’s there too xx
Just read your post and that’s just how I feel – ready but so not ready!! Bit too late now though as there’s no going back for me!
What a beautiful poem! Lovely photos too. There’s so much to think about. Even though people say it’s easier the second time round I actually think it would be even more daunting. Maybe in the future I will find out.
Thanks Stacey. I’ll let you know!!
Lovely poem and photos. You will be amazing and the best mother that brand new little person could have! #sharethejoy
Ah thanks, I hope so x
