Is there anything better than slipping between clean sheets when you get into bed? How about silky smooth, soft bamboo sheets?
Recently this amazing crazy heatwave has led to beautiful sunny days coupled with hot, sweaty and uncomfortable nights. I don’t know about you but I am very sensitive to temperature when I am sleeping and find it really difficul to settle if I am too hot or too cold. I have been so thankful to have been trying out this bamboo duvet cover from Live Better With or I think I would be incredibly grumpy right now! To be honest, I haven’t even been putting a duvet in it but just using it as a sheet.
Bamboo is a very clever material as is it temperature regulating, so as well as keep you cool when you’re hot, it keeps you warm when you’re cold. So I can’t wait to try it out with a duvet inside when this heatwave subsides and we are back to normal UK weather. This is also great for anyone who has issues regulating their own temperature or who is fluctuating during cancer treatement.
Bamboo fabric is moisture-wicking which means it keeps you cool and dry, no matter what the temperature. I wish we had these sheets earlier as one of Carl’s cancer symptoms, before he had his kidney removed, was bad night sweats. They are also great for anyone who has sensitive skin – either from Chemo or from something like eczema – as they are so soft and gentle. Additionally, the bamboo is naturally antibacterial and antifungal, which is great for anyone with sores or broken skin, or for people who have a weakened immune system.
The duvet cover also comes with two pillow covers. The pillow covers are also great for keeping you cool and feel luxurious on your skin. I think it would be lovely to have the bamboo fitted sheet as well, which is also available on the site, to complete the set. It really does feel sumptuous against your skin and adds a bit of luxury and comfort to your bed. When you’re not feeling well, these little touches can make a really big difference, especially if you are having to spend a long time in bed.
On the Live Better With site, the duvet is only availalble for double beds so it would be good to see it in other sizes too as this is a bit limiting. It also only comes in two colours – white or mint, which is a shame as they are both quite clinical colours. You don’t really want that when you’ve spent a long time in hospital so I would love to see it in some warmer colours or even a nice pattern to give it a more welcoming feel. The duvet cover also creases quite a lot so if you are not someone who likes ironing (like me!) then this is something you may want to consider.
It is quite expensive – £47.49 – but I do think it is a good investment as there is really nothing that beats a good night’s sleep. I have really loved using this bamboo duvet cover and pillow cases. In fact, I really don’t want to wash it and sleep with anything else in the meantime!
Disclosure: Live Better With sent us this bedding in return for our honest review.
