I’ve only got a 5 day meal plan for you this week as I’m off to the Allergy Blog Awards in Manchester on Saturday – woohoo! I’m looking forward to a nice night away catching up with some lovely allergy bloggers and leaving Mr C in charge of meals.
This week has been a cheap shop – £35 in Aldi – as I already had a lot in the cupboards and mainly bought meat and veg. That doesn’t include the kids’ dairy free milk which I bulk buy when it’s on offer.
My sister read my blog last week and said ‘there’s no way J is eating all that’ and she’s right. He’s very fussy and I’m trying to work on it and make him take a small bite of something new every dinner. But between his fussiness and their various allergies I can end up making many variations of the same meal.
Take the thai coconut salmon: I would make salmon for me and miss A and chicken for the boys as they won’t eat fish. I would cook J’s chicken plain. I would cook Miss A’s salmon in the sauce but serve hers before adding the spices she can’t have! I’m used to it so it’s not that hard but can be a bit of a juggle. I’d rather do this than create separate meals when I can though.
Me: Nut free granola
Kids: Toast or porridge
Mr C: Nothing!
Lunches are usually sandwiches and fruit for the kids and Mr C and I will have a random selection of whatever’s in the fridge!
Thai coconut salmon (chicken for J/Mr C)
Sausage, mash and onion gravy
Whatever Daddy cooks – I’m going to the Allergy Blog Awards!!
Something out the freezer when I’m back!
