It’s was little boy’s 2nd birthday this week – how did that happen?!
It’s been a year full of fabulous highs as we’ve watched him learn to walk and talk and difficult lows when he suffered his first anaphylactic reaction. He is a bright, imaginative, adventurous little boy who I feel so happy to have in my life.
We had a little party for and he loved all the attention – especially when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him! I made a little tea party for him and some of his friends with a safe spread of his favourite things.
J’s Birthday Menu
- Chocolate Train Cake with buttercream icing – I used the same cake recipe from my Oreo Cupcakes but my blue icing kept going green as there is yellow colouring in dairy free spread!! I eventually had to make it using Trex but it turned out well with a large dose of vanilla essence. I forgot to take a picture though – whoops!
- Summer fruits mousse
- Ham & Violife cheese sandwiches
- Cheese straws made with puff pastry & Violife
- Sausage rolls
- Carrot sticks, cucumber & cherry tomatoes
- Pom bears
And here’s a little poem for my baby boy to celebrate his special day:
It seems like just yesterday
That we first set eyes on you.
But time is flying quickly
And now you’re turning two.
You love diggers and helicopters,
Trains, tractors and cars.
Your new big boy clock
With the sun and the stars.
You’re just a bundle of energy,
An explosion of fun.
Why would you want to walk
When you could jump or run?
You fill my life with so much
Laughter, love and joy.
Happy 2nd birthday
My gorgeous little boy.
