Our home is full of fun, laughter, a Labrador and two allergic children. We are a travel loving, country dwelling family – you will usually find us covered in flour or mud! We share our lives – the adventures, the struggles and the strategies – to help you survive and thrive as a food allergy family.
Recipes: All our recipes are free from milk, egg, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame and garlic. They use readily available ingredients that you can find in your local supermarket and are made with family life in mind.
Allergy advice:I am always happy to help anyone who is looking for advice, support or guidance. I am not a medical expert though and can only share our personal experiences of allergies.
I am a former national features journalist and work as a professional writing trainer.
I am author of ‘Living With Allergies: Practical Tips For All The Family’ which will be published by Pen & Sword in 2019.
I also run AllergyTravels, the first global review and information site to help people with allergies travel more safely and confidently.
I love to travel and have visited 50 countries across 6 continents. I have worked on cruise ships, lived in New York, volunteered in Peru and even been on a reality TV show!
J is a gorgeous, cheeky 5 year old who loves lego and splashing in puddles.
He also has life-threatening food allergies.
As a baby J had severe eczema and started showing immediate reactions to food when we were weaning him. He was diagnosed with allergies to milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, sesame, cod and garlic at 9 months old.
He also suffers from bad Asthma and is allergic to dog and pollen.
He had his first anaphylactic reaction to milk at 15 months but has since grown out of it completely, along with cod!
About Miss A
Miss A is a bright and beautiful 2 year old.
She made a dramatic entrance into the world but has completed our family. She loves playing with her big brother, dancing and Frozen. She had her first serious allergic reaction at 5 months old and is allergic to milk, egg, sesame, chilli, dog and cat.
