Welcome to the Free From Farmhouse!
Our home is full of fun, laughter, a Labrador and two food allergic children. We are learning to survive and thrive as a food allergic family and I share our adventures, country lives and free from recipes.
Allergies are a big part of our lives and underly many daily decisions but they don’t define us. We love to cook, travel and explore – you will usually find us covered in flour or mud!
Recipes: All our recipes are free from milk, egg, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame and garlic. They use readily available ingredients that you can find in your local supermarket and are made with family life in mind.
Allergy advice:I am always happy to help anyone who is looking for advice, support or guidance. I am not a medical expert though and can only share our personal experiences of allergies.
I am a journalist and have written for The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, Woman’s World, Essentials, All About You and Mother and Baby. I also work as a professional writing trainer. I love to travel and have visited 50 countries across 6 continents. I have worked on cruise ships, lived in New York, volunteered in Peru and even been on a reality TV show!
J is a gorgeous, cheeky 4 year old who loves cars and splashing in puddles.
He also has life-threatening food allergies.
As a baby J had severe eczema and started showing immediate reactions to food when we were weaning him. He was diagnosed with allergies to milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, sesame, cod and garlic at 9 months old and had his first anaphylactic reaction to milk at 15 months. He also suffers from bad Asthma.
About Miss A

She made a dramatic entrance into the world but has completed our family. She loves watching her big brother and Mia the dog. Sadly she has suffered food triggered eczema since birth and had her first serious allergic reaction at 5 months old. She is allergic to milk, egg, sesame, chilli and cumin.
